Visit Bennetts >> Bennetts.co.uk is the website of Bennets insurance who have been providing general insurance since 1930 and at the beginning of the 1970's, due to changes in the market and consumer demand, they began to specialise in motorcycle insurance. In 1999, again because of demand, this company made their free phone available at weekends and in 2000 were first to launch an online quote and buy service which led to the website winning website of the year 2001.
In the same year a privately owned UK company founded in 1992 and known as the BGL Group (Budget) acquired Bennett's insurance alongside Dial motor insurance. At this time Bennett's were providing insurance for 95,000 motorbike policies.
The next milestone, in 2003, sees the Bennett's brand with a whole new identity when they personally sponsor Neil Hodgson who won the World Superbike Championship that year, which led to them sponsoring many motor bike related events on Sky television including Sky Sports, Men and Motors, Moto Plus and Motors TV and by 2004 they had become the favoured insurance supplier for the British Motorcyclist Federation.
Always keen to meet customer demands, in 2005 they invested nearly ?700,000 in modern technology to improve product offerings and also became title sponsor of Bennetts British Superbike Championship, which continues into the present time.
2006 sees this company sponsoring ITV1's coverage of this event and the launching "Be Part of It" which features a competition to find riders of motorcycles and lovers of bikes to take part in the next series of TV credits. Bennetts appear to be keen on promoting competitions and there is no shortage of them in the press, here is a sample of previous prizes taken from the Daily Telegraph: Win a racing weekend (or two), Win two Superbike VIP tickets, Win World Superbike package and Win British MotoGP tickets. You can usually enter competitions on the website when you apply for a quote.
2007 saw Bennetts making more news with motorbikes when they embarked on a mammoth motorcycle safety campaign, "Rev for a Reason" and the launch of a countrywide search to find twelve "biking babes" to become grid girls.
On 28th March outside the Royal Albert Hall, the first ever motorcycle orchestra, The Bennetts Bike Orchestra with James Toseland (Superbike champion) on piano performed a composition by Stephen Montague. 2007 also sees the Bennetts.co.uk website being named in the top ten hit-wise.
Another new addition to the website in 2007 was an online calculator to find out what kind of biker you are and uncover your biking alter ego. Designed by a sports psychologist from the University of Essex who says there are five main types of alter ego, Bank holiday bikers, Scooter commuters, Rossi rev heads, Boardroom bikers and Muscle motor heads.
In 2008 Bennetts continue their personal sponsorship of James Toseland as he moves into MotoGP, the heights of motorbike racing and they reveal their commissioned, custom built bike made by Roger Almond, which is displayed at the Coventry contact centre.
Having conducted a lot of research into the requirements of motorcyclists, Bennett's work with a panel of underwriters to offer almost 600,000 quotes yearly and they provide more than 200,000 bikers with insurance. No matter what type of motorbike or scooter you own, Bennett's claim that they will search to find the best quote for you and if you are a lady biker you are likely to receive a discount on your premium. †

23/11/2009 My son sold his bike and then sent his insurance certificate back. He then got a bill for £124.49 as you apparently sign up for a year's insurance whether you want it or not. Thier custonmer service is appalling and you get regular threatening letters from their debt collection department.
