Endsleigh insurance services is one of the most comprehensive companies we have come across when it comes to that all-in-one insurer search. They cover every thing from your car to your pet to your kids musical instruments whilst at university. Although not a household name as such compared to the other heavy TV advertising firms they certainly are part of the UK landscape with over 120 branches nationwide. This sets them apart from other insurers in that you can actually visit a location to take out your policy, make changes or make a claim. But whether you visit one of these branches, telephone their call centre or visit their website you will still get the same savings. Apparently you can save up to ?136 with Endsleigh car insurance without having to reduce your cover or accept a huge excess. Like many firms that offer such a huge range of insurances, Endleigh are a broker and they search a panel of insurers (up to 50 at one time) to find the best deal for your particular circumstances and requirements which gives you a better chance of making savings yourself. On top of this, they do offer extra discounts from time to time above and beyond the quote they obtain for you such as the often seen money off offers if you buy any of their travel insurance products online.

Their aim is quite unique in that they target career people, which would support their product range choice, starting as students and then progressing with them throughout their lives. This really shows with their range of musical instrument cover which are generally hard to insure, not just orchestral instruments but especially things like amplifiers, drum stands, cases, speakers, turntables etc. which are prone to mishaps due to the environment in which they are used and the use themselves. So what do they cover? Just about everything really, Endsleigh's motor insurance will cover your car, motorcycle, scooter, moped, van or minibus with optional roadside breakdown recovery services. Their home cover plans extend to owned property, rented properties and landlords themselves with separate bicycle and/or musical instrument insurance available. They also insure pets with three levels of cover and specialist policies for those harder to insure animals. Endsleighs travel insurance has policies for annual travel, skiing insurance, extreme activity, studying abroad, gap years, backpackers, international students, long stay travelling plus school group trips. They also specialise in student insurances covering things like bikes and musical instruments as well as students cars and motorbikes. †

01/11/2008 I've never seen so man y strange questions for a car insurance quote. Am I a homeowner? Do I have an extra part-time job? Am I the member of a Union? Plus, I couldn't find the check box to opt out of them selling my details to marketers. There was just a statement at the bottom of the page saying that if I didn't want sales calls I'd have to contact them AFTER I got the quote. No thanks.

26/10/2008 Most of Endsleigh's adverts focus on their student insurance services, but it seems they do home insurance, too. There are some problems with their online form, eg I ticked the box to say I didn't want buildings insurance, but still had to enter a date when I wanted it to start and a property rebuilding cost - it wasn't clear whether this affected my final quote. But in the end their quote was the lowest I've had, and included free accidental damage for TVs and hi-fis. So their quote was competitive but their site needs work.
