GoTravel travel insurance services offers the full range of insurances available for those looking to head overseas. Single trip cover is available and you can get a quote for any length of single trip, some insurers only allow up to 31 days, and kids go free on an adults policy. Go Travel's annual travel insurance also has flexibility allowing you to travel as many times as you like within that year with discounts for couples and families. Backpacker or student travelling is also insurable with the popular option of allowing you to return home up to three times during the gap year, it also allows you to work at certain jobs whilst abroad such as bar work or fruit picking. GoTravel's winter sports cover includes skiing and snowboarding plus a whole host of other winter activities with off piste ski and snowboard cover, always check that what you are planning to do is covered though - kids go free is also available when you insure with a winter policy. Their golf insurance is pretty similar to the single trip cover but with extras such as insuring your hired or personally owned golf equipment. Other specialist travels are also quoted for such as cruises or business travel but due to the cost of a top quality cruise always check the level of cancellation cover matches what you are paying. Go Travel also offer travel insurance for those over 65 on specialist policies right up to the age of 99, you can even get insured if you have a pre-existing medical condition. The only thing they don't seem to cover for is if you are pregnant.

The GoTravelInsurance company is not one of your come-lately entries into the ever crowding internet insurance market. They are the internet arm of an already existing insurance firm and their online services have been available since 2000. GoTravels site focuses mainly on getting you that all important quote with simple to use forms and a quick online purchase process. Phone sales are available but the opening hours are more limited than most, encouraging more people to purchase online which we would assume keeps down running costs and the savings should always be reflected in your quotation. Despite this, we did find it disconcerting that they were advertising other firms on their website, the gaudy Google adverts holding prominent positions on the sides and bottoms of various pages. We have never seen this on any other insurance company's website. 01/11/2008 Quote was reasonable but I had a really hard time understanding the policy. Up to £10 million pounds in medical expenses are covered, but only £600 for hospital stays ... does that make sense to anyone? I was going to call but the list of things I'd need to query was so huge (you can't even leave your golf clubs in your car?) I thinnk I'll just check out somewhere else.

22/10/2008 This website was down when I first visited it, but worked when I tried the next day. Their travel insurance quote form is simple though poorly designed - their text entry boxes need to be bigger. Go Travel Insurance's quote wasn't the cheapest I've had but it was at the lower end of the spectrum. They charge an additional £4.50 if you want a copy of your certificate posted to you, which seems steep but might be standard for all I know. They also require you to tick a box saying that you've read the "initial disclosure document" before you can proceed, but I couldn't find this document.
