Insure is the creation of Equity Insurance Brokers which means that they are not a come-lately entry into the crowded insurance services market. Unlike other companies touting themselves as brokers who will basically act as admin staff between you and the actual insurer, Insure's insurance services are more personally involved in the management and running of your motor policy. As the 7th largest general insurance specialist in the UK with more than 1,700 staff (all UK based) and over one million UK policyholders they offer a range of insurances such as car, home, pet, motorbike and travel with only the absence of life cover keeping them from being an all-in-one insurer.

Equity car insurance through their Insure.co.uk website is as comprehensive as any other with all the usual suspects such as 24 hour helplines, courtesy cars and so on. Sadly they don't accept no claims bonus that you built up under your company car but they do offer introductory discounts if you have been a safe driver even though not on your own policy so be sure and mention such when applying for a quote. Although their online quote facility only takes a minute or two to fill in it would be wise to take a quick visit to their frequently asked questions section where you can scroll through a list of job types that they will not insure for. The level of no claims discount you can get is not stated but currently they do tend to offer a discount if you buy Insure's car insurance online. Along with Insure car insurance you can get breakdown cover attached and although the concept of a no claims bonus being attached to your breakdown policy may seem new, there are similar programs with other breakdown recovery specialists. Called Autonational Rescue you can currently get a no claims bonus on joining if you haven't had a breakdown in the past year and you'll continue to get a discount if you only make one call-out every two years.

The Equity Insurance company is also offering a discount for buying online with their home insurance products whether you're insured for buildings cover, contents or both. The policy looks fairly standard but they do offer to pay ?25 of any switching costs you might experience for leaving your mortgage provider's insurance setup or whoever currently insures you. Cover also extends to home offices with up to ?5,000 cover for computers, printers, fax machines providing they are not owned by your employer. Certainly if you find that you are quoted much cheaper than elsewhere you won't be sacrificing much cover so for the time it takes to fill in the form online it is worth a shot. Make sure and hit www.insure.co.uk though and not www.insure.com as the latter is for insurance in the US, not the UK. †

05/03/2010 It appears i am not the only one with problems. My flat fibreglass roof was pouring in water as rubber under ran down wall like a stream after numerous calls and no as promised call back we managed to get local builder to replace at our cost. We could do no other as needed electric on! They sent out a assesor who said could be damp from wall but would pay for top half contents. Not happy they sent a second assesor who said could be condensation. However they decided not to pay for contents as could not see any roof damage lol. All i could say is if we had waited 5 weeks for insures response we would of had to swim out. It was a high price to pay and FSA may sort and just wish i had looked at reviews before i purchased.

26/10/2009 This has to be the worst insurance company ever We had a bathfull of water come thru our ceiling which affected out lounge diner and hall stairs and landing we reported it and had to wait 2 weeks for somebody to come and have a look at it they are refusing to redecorate the "lounge" end of the room forever on hold on the phone customer service is a joke i will be changing my insurance as soon as i can
