The Post Office's reach has continued to expand over the years becoming a one stop shop for all things relating to life in the UK from home phone lines to insurers to broadband (the less said about the Westlife ads the better though). Car insurance from the Post Office can apparently save you up to ?200 (at the time of writing this) with varying levels of cover and all the extras you would expect from the larger brands, this is because they use a panel of insurers to locate the best deal for you. This sort of brokering is common these days and the PostOffice's car insurance is administered by BISL Ltd who are also responsible for Budget so their experience in this area is pretty huge. You can even get a "new for old" replacement should your insured vehicle be under 12 months old. With all this you get optional breakdown cover and there are flexible payment options on the whole lot.

Post Office Home Insurance has no less. Each policy can be tailored to your specific needs so that you don't end up paying for things that you don't need cover for, this results, they said, in an average saving of around 30% compared to your current policy. Included in the Post Offices buildings protection policy is Home Assistance, which provides 24-hour assistance for home emergencies like burst pipes and blocked drains. There seems to be some confusion over the location of the PostOffices websites with many typing in strange variations, some even with .gov and .gov.uk endings into our search facility. To clarify, the address you should bookmark is www.postoffice.co.uk (www.thepostoffice.co.uk redirects there also) with www.postoffice.com and www.thepostoffice.com both being owned by different companies. Although the Post Office's websites are linked to by the RoyalMail there are no Royal Mail insurance services as all financial products are sold through their PostOffice brand.

16/02/2010 my personal experience with post office home contents insurance(accidental damage policy paid in full), i have never made a claim, and always thought having insurance was the right thing to do, last nite we had an accident with our laptop (water spilled on it and it wouldnt work when i switched it on ), thinking i was covered i rang them ( only to be told i was not covered... for me to be covered for my laptop i would have had to bought additional policy that covered the laptop away from the home... even though the accident happened in the home... seems to me as though the post office do not make this clear when purchasing the policy( makes you wonder what is covered on accidental damage in the home??? No renewal for me Post Office !!

28/07/2009 was with po insurance but second year went up in price so i left now with aa will they increace price next year if so will say goodbye to them as well have 9 years n.c.bonus
