Not exactly headline news but you have to remember that such claims are generally the domain of internet only insurance companies that strip policies bare to drop the price. Prudential are offering these savings whilst still retaining a high level of service such as courtesy cars and new for old replacements. No claims discounts extend up 65% off with 70% no claims bonus for drivers over 50 which is average for motor insurance. Throw in an obligatory discount for buying online and they could certainly well be worth a look.

With a car insurance policy from the Pru you can get breakdown recovery cover provided by Green Flag. We have already covered Green Flag in other sections of this site but to refresh your memory the general statements are an average call out time of 40 minutes and 80% of break downs fixed at the roadside. Their time promise comes with a guarantee that if they don't show up within an hour you get ?10 back. This recovery offering from ThePru comes in five different cover levels matching the exact cover offered by Green Flag themselves on their own website so it's six and half a dozen where you buy it from.

Prudential Home Insurance comes with far more incentives including the ability to create a no claims discount for your house cover going up to 30% off. They also offer a home emergency services as standard with your policy for plumbing and electrical faults that develop which if you claim do not affect your home insurances no claims bonus. With all this you can also get a discount on your premium if you are a new customer, for your first year. Cover appears to be standard with the ever popular students addition to cover your child's belongings whilst they are at university.

Accident damage cover comes as an extra and it can be tied to both your contents and buildings cover. PrudentialInsurance services are limited to car, home, travel and health so if you're looking to consolidate your insurers into one place this wouldn't be the direction to go. Certainly the big brand name gives weight to the idea that you will have more protection and a better experience than with cheaper brands but to entice people into moving just one or two insurances away from where they are right now we would have expected bigger discounts.

30/11/2009 I have tried to phone this morning and i have had to hold on for approx 10 mins before i gave up not having been connected. I am not paying to listen to music and someone saying 'thankyou for holding, you are near the front of the queue, you will be connected as soon as someone is free' This was repeated time and time again and i just gave up.

12/02/2009 i am extremely happy with my current insurer ( pru-health) they might have changed the gym structure but benefits me highly as i am a platinum member
