STATravel started in Australia and after operating for over twenty-five years they now have over four hundred and fifty branches worldwide including sixty-five in the UK. STATravel's standard single trip and annual policies are placed in two main groups: Blue and Gold. Their single trip insurance is exceptionally flexible covering from four days up to a year for travel in three geographical areas Europe and (due to the high costs of medical cover in the United States of America), either Worldwide including or excluding the USA. If you are planning several trips during the year, STA offer a multi-trip travel insurance policy with no limits on the number of trips you make - again with Blue or Gold options - and you can stay away for up to 60 days on all worldwide and 42 days on all European holidays in the year. Policy extensions give you the flexibility to extend from a period of a month up to two years and no medical screening is necessary when you buy STA travel insurance, so you can buy it online in the morning and set off for the airport later in the day.
Substantial discounts are offered for group travel and it is possible to take a flight only policy if you don't need insurance cover where you are going. If you are studying abroad STA have a specific policy that is valid for a year and allows you up to three trips home.
STA premier sports travel insurance covers any adventure or extreme sporting activity, in fact everything from skydiving, micro lighting, kayaking, water-skiing, horse riding to bungee jumping and winter sports policies cover everything from equipment to medical expenses and even pay compensation if there is no snow. However, even if winter sports are not the main reason for your trip, you will find that seven days cover is included in all single trip policies.

29/09/2008 Their flight search function has the be the simplest, most usable one I've ever come across. Why on earth doesn't every online flight booking service use something like that?! I used Aberdeen's flight checker an hour ago and spent ages having to try and guess the right information to put in!
