American Express Insurance [Full Article] As a worldwide financial lender, the move for American Express into travel insurance seems only logical - the move into home and car insurances maybe not so much. Amex's travel insurance is certainly far clearer than most insurers with only three types of insurance available. Single trip for individuals and families wishing to travel on a single trip up to 93 days for business and/or leisure including cover for medical treatment, baggage ... |
14/10/2008 Although they are a little bit more expensive, it is more than worth it for the cover and service they provide. Their winter sports cover means that we are covered to ski off piste, which isn't always the case with other insurance companies that I looked at.
11/10/2008 I found this website a bit busy, with a lot of small text on every page. However I found the travel insurance link quickly and got started. They ask for the age of the oldest traveller, which I haven't seen before, but apart from that their form is pretty standard. Their price wasn't competitive, even though they offer a 5% online discount - I've had three cheaper quotes from other companies. I did notice that their annual trip cover was only a few pounds more than the single trip price though, and that seemed like a good deal.
27/06/2008 American Express search around a few insurance companies so they reckon they get you the best quote. I personally found them to be quite expensive, but I did trail round a lot of sites! Some of the form was bit tricky, like where it asked you to type a single word to describe your occupation but then made you choose from a list anyway. Most of the rest of the form was quite standard though, which means that it took a while to complete but was mostly necessary information. It was quite helpful that it told you exactly what you would need to hand to complete the form though, even though I was a bit of an expert by the time I got to this site!
24/05/2008 I found this an easy to use website. I explored the option of taking out identity protection insurance and found the supporting material (and little on line quiz) to be useful. The online application form is easy to use and, particularly helpfully, you know how much it will cost before completing the form. Thus there is only a need to supply personal information if you wish to take out insurance rather than if you're looking for a quote.
09/05/2008 I found this site really annoying! Firstly, they are a comparison site for insurance, secondly, they ask the same information more than once - and they do not have an automated registration plate car finder. Then, I couldn't get a quote because it recognised that I had insurance until next year. So, couldn't get what I went to the site for!
