31/07/2009 I'm trying to renew and I've been on hold for over 20 minutes.
13/07/2009 Customer services are really bad and it's impossible to get any one to answer a simple question.
22/11/2008 Their payment system keeps failing to take money from my account or they take multiple amounts. The customer services are useless and permanently on hold.
11/10/2008 Elephant's form was easy to use and the information they asked for was standard, except that they wanted my mother's maiden name - I wasn't happy about providing that just to get a quote. However, the price quoted was almost £60 cheaper than I'd received elsewhere, and it included a free courtesy car plus unlimited windscreen cover. This seemed like a pretty good deal and I will probably go for this. I did get a bit fed up with the cartoon elephant that appears in between every screen though!
11/06/2008 Even though they are a cheap company they offer loads of extras with the fully comp policies. This includes things such as a free courtesy car and free stereo cover. Tried to retrieve a quote with them because they were the cheapest I found which included all this stuff and it didn't work for some reason. Then when I tried to get the same quote it actually came back cheaper. Bonus! Anyway quote process is quite easy but because it's spread across a few different pages they take a while to load. It's definitely worth it for the price though.
04/06/2008 At first sight, my instinct was to exit from this website immediately. The logo on the front page is really off putting and left me doubting the professionalism of the company. In the main I do not find attempts at humour work when I am looking to buy insurance. On the plus side, as I persevered past the initial impression, I found the information clearly presented and as they emphasise their commitment to providing reasonably priced cover I used them to obtain a quote.
20/05/2008 Properly built website for a change! Aah! Elephant is Diamond is Heath Lambert. The car quote link is trying to direct me to the same site as Diamond did - so the link doesn't work. The home insurance directs me to HeathLambert - which I now know is a price comparison website. Strangely, it does give me slightly (by about £15 a year) cheaper prices for the same companies. Which means they are using the 'for the ladies' marketing used in Diamond as a ploy to extract more dosh!
